Asbury Park, NJ – June 2, 2023: The Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Community Health Center (VNACJ CHC) and Children and Family Health Institute (CFHI) received the Corporate Responsibility Award by Garden State Equality (GSE) at the Equality Ball held at Asbury Lanes.
GSE recognized VNACJ CHC and CFHI as a pillar of high-quality healthcare for their continued commitment to providing comprehensive services to the community, such as PrEP counseling, needle exchange programs, and gender-affirming care.
“The staff is beyond excited to be honored for their dedication and commitment to the communities we serve,” said Shannon Preston, director of HIV Community Services at VNA Health Group. “To be recognized by GSE, an organization that we have the utmost respect for, makes it even more special for all of us.”
The GSE Ball, held every June, raises funds for critical work to ensure both legal and lived equality for all LGBTQ+ New Jerseyans.
“It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized by GSE for the work that we do. Our mission at VNACJ CHC is to build healthy communities and enhance well-being. To be effective in delivering on that mission, we aspire to provide care in an inclusive and supportive environment, one centered around the needs of everyone. GSE has been an invaluable partner in helping us establish trust with the diverse communities that we serve.”
This year, VNACJ CHC opened a new facility, the Red Bank Community Health Center, which will provide greater access to high-quality and affordable healthcare services (including primary, dental, chiropractic, and mental health care) for all members of the community, including the underinsured and uninsured.
Beginning with its first community health center in Asbury Park in 1994, VNA CJ has remained committed to improving the health and well-being of individuals by providing high-quality, cost-effective, comprehensive healthcare services directly in local communities. Over nearly three decades, the VNA CJ has significantly expanded its service offerings to encompass a range of care, including primary care, prenatal care, HIV/AIDS services, behavioral care, dentistry, podiatry, and chiropractic care offered out of locations in Asbury Park, Freehold, Keyport and Red Bank.
