VNACJ CHC hits milestone as they administer COVID-19 Moderna vaccine to Monmouth County frontline residents
Asbury Park, New Jersey (January 4, 2021) – The VNA of Central Jersey Community Health Centers (CHC) recently announced they have immunized over 500 healthcare workers with the FDA approved Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccines are being administered in the Asbury Park, Keyport, Freehold and Red Bank health centers to the designated 1A category of New Jerseyan’s which includes healthcare workers and long-term care residents.
“The VNACJ CHC’s are honored to partner with Monmouth County in vaccinating the frontline heroes who have been working tirelessly to fight this pandemic for the last nine months” said Christopher Rinn, CEO of the CHC’s. “We are prepared to serve as the lead agency for immunizations in the area – our staff are trained and prepared, our sites are equipped for high volumes – we are ready” emphasized Rinn.
Rinn also shared that within the next few weeks they anticipate expanding the vaccination capacity by moving to larger venues within the county to allow for a higher volume of vaccinations to be distributed each day as they move into the 1B and further categories.
“Efficient and equitable vaccine distribution is exactly what we need to crush this virus. I’m proud that VNA of Central Jersey Community Health Centers is leading the way in the fight to protect our frontline health care workers, and I’m glad that they will be able to expand their operation as the state ramps up vaccine distribution in the coming months. In Congress, I’ll continue to ensure that New Jersey has the resources it needs to help end this public health crisis” shared Congressman Frank Pallone.
The New Jersey Department of Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli added, “Vaccination is a critical step in helping to prevent COVID-19 and holds the promise to change the course of this pandemic. Our healthcare workers have been on the frontlines throughout and we are grateful for their heroic work.”
Monmouth County residents who are currently under the 1A category may schedule their appointment to receive the COVID-19 vaccine through the CHC website at: www.vnachc.org. Additionally, as the vaccination clinics expand volunteers will be needed (both clinical and non-clinical). If you are interested in volunteering, please send your information to CHCInfo@vnahg.org.
