U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone Jr., D-6th District, announced on Thursday that the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Community Health Center in Asbury Park would receive a grant of $1,583,709.
The funding will be used to help the center provide comprehensive primary and preventive health services to medically underserved populations.
“I am pleased the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Community Health Center was awarded a grant to continue its outstanding work serving our communities,” said Pallone.
“I am especially encouraged because this investment in preventative care will keep New Jersey residents healthy and out of the hospital,” Pallone, who is chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, added.
The funding comes from the Affordable Care Act’s Community Health Center Fund. In his previous role as chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health, Pallone played a key role in authoring and passing the Affordable Care Act that created the program.
